Bernt Petersen 1937
As a trained
cabinetmaker was Bernt Petersen graduated from the School of Applied Arts, where
he graduated in 1957.
He then worked for Hans J. Wegner and the
furniture magazine Mobilia.
Worked as a teacher at the Danish Design School 1973-78.
He taught at the Royal Academy of
Architecture in Copenhagen
1978-85.
At his own design studio since 1963 Bernt Petersen designed wooden furniture, predominantly in light
woods, such as ash and beech.
The idiom is simple
and adapted to industrial
production, and his furniture has
also been used in theaters and concert
halls in many Danish cities.
Bernt Petersenhas also
served as an exhibition architect. Bernt Petersen and Søborg Furniture collaborated on various special projects, including design and supply of furniture for Danish employers' association boardroom.
